blimp is a full service production company
we tell adventurous stories for adventurous people
If your project needs a blimp, we’ll get you a blimp. Or a viking ship. Or a bullfight in a NYC basement. The name BLIMP was born from a willingness to embrace the outlandish and absurd when a great story demands it, no matter the production challenges.
Years of making crazy ideas possible enable collaborations with one-of-a-kind directors who are funny, sensitive, insightful and unconventional. With each project we learn more, aim higher, and fly beyond the edge of the map. And we’re always ready for the next adventure.
We are dedicated to telling adventurous stories that shift your point of view.
We believe in creativity and community. In light of that we exercise great care with the projects we undertake and the humans who bring them to life. Great stories unite communities through a common emotional experience. From the heartbreak of losing a parent, to the elation of completing an unthinkable journey, to the thrill of revenge, or the smug delight of an inside joke, our aim is to connect and entertain.
We bring this mantra to every project we touch, whether it’s a 15 second ad, or a feature film, our work creates emotional connections that resonate for years to come.
Our team’s work has screened in film festivals on six continents, participated in labs at Sundance and TriBeca, played internationally in theaters and aired on national TV. We’ve won all kinds of shiny ornaments: Audience Choice Awards, Special Jury Prizes, Best Comedy Short Awards, Best Director Awards, Clio Awards, Golden Trailer Awards, PromaxBDA, and The World Trailer Awards.
Ian Morland and Zach Carver founded Blimp in 2016.
